ADGP Ladakh assesses security scenario in Indo-China LAC areas

Leh, Nov 23: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Ladakh, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, today concluded his three-day-long visit to the areas close to the Indo-China Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Eastern Ladakh.
A statement said that the visit aimed at assessing the security scenario and well-being of the police personnel deployed in these strategically significant zones.
During the visit, Dr Jamwal inaugurated pivotal initiatives focused at bolstering police infrastructure.
At Police Post Tangtse, a Tourist Facilitation Centre and residential quarters were inaugurated on the first day, highlighting a commitment to enhancing facilities for tourists.
In Pangong, the ADGP unveiled a Tourist Transit Camp and a Solar Photovoltaic Plant, showcasing a fusion of sustainable practices with policing efforts.
The second day witnessed the inauguration of a Type-II Jawan Quarter at Police Post Chushul, coupled with an inspection of greenhouses established by Ladakh Police in Chushul, Tangtse, and Nyoma.
On the concluding day, Dr Jamwal visited Demjok, Tsaga, and Dungti villages, engaging with ITBP and Army personnel. Commending their dedication, he acknowledged their pivotal role in maintaining peace and security along the border.
In Hanlay, the ADGP inspected an under-construction police check post and inaugurated a Jawans Barrack and Photovoltaic Plant at Police Station Nyoma.
Beyond infrastructure, Dr Jamwal actively interacted with the general public in various villages of the Changthang region, providing a platform to address community concerns.
Emphasizing the significance of education for young children, he urged parents to guide their children against drug abuse. Dr Jamwal underscored the pivotal role of the community in supporting policing efforts and crime detection.
