ADGP reviews security arrangements for forthcoming Yatras

JAMMU, June 6: The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, Anand Jainconducted a comprehensive review of the security arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra, Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra, Mela Khir Bhawani Yatra, and Shri Machail Mata Yatra.
DIGs of DKR/UR Range/ RP Range and district SSPs of Jammu Zone participated the meeting through video conferencing while DIG JSK Range, SSP Jammu and SSP PCR Jammu attended the meeting in person.
During the meeting the detailed discussions were held to ensure robust security arrangements and adequate facilities for pilgrims during their stay at the Yatri Niwas in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, and other lodging centers. The establishment of Joint Control Rooms was stressed for better coordination between all agencies, ensuring the smooth conduct of yatra.
The ADGP reviewed the transport plans to ensure the safe and hassle-free movement of yatris on the national highway. The district SPs and Range DIGs briefed the ADGP that all necessary arrangements are being finalized at all levels.
Detailed discussions were held regarding the deployment of CAPF manpower provided by PHQ for SANJY-2024, their distribution in the five districts of Jammu province and PCR Jammu.
Deployment plans were finalized to meet any contingencies in the districts of Jammu Zone, including Doda, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Poonch, and Reasi.
Strong Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) and Road Opening Parties (ROPs) will be deployed, along with fool proof arrangements at reception centers, langars, and assistance booths.
The ADGP directed all district SSPs to ensure the optimum use of available resources to facilitate the smooth conduct of the yatras.
