ADKUF for settling Pandits in satellite township in Valley

JAMMU, Apr 4: All Displaced Kashmiri United Front (ADKUF) in its meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of its chairman, D N Kissu discussed various burning issues of displaced Pandits from Valley and expressed concern that successive Governments have failed to rehabilitate the community in Valley during last three decades.
Addressing the meeting Prof G L Koul chief advisor of the Forum demanded settlement of Pandits in a satellite township in Valley with all day today facilities including creation of avenues for their livelihood with full constitutional and institutional guarantees.
Prof Koul also demanded political empowerment for the community with reservation of one seat each in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, three seats each in State Assembly and Council besides employment avenues be created for displaced Pandit youth by giving preference to overaged. He said in addition to the State Government, the special package of jobs be created in Central Government offices.
President of the organization P L Sudeshi demanded rent of the migrant houses which are under the occupation of security forces in the Valley, besides compensation be released for the damaged houses during the turmoil period.
He also demanded compensation for loss suffered by agriculturists and orchardists in Valley whose trees were cut by the anti national elements during the turmoil period.
He demanded passage of Shrines and Temples Bill and expressed concern over the silence maintained by the Government on the issue.
Sudeshi also demanded that the PM package employees be allotted quarters in their respective districts as they are facing lot of problems due to shortage of accommodation.
Addressing meeting Dr Bal Ji said the community should enmass participate in election process. B N Bhat , M L Pandita, C L Zutshi, Phoola Ji, P N Raina, N N Dhar, Bansi Lal and others were also present.
