ADKUF reiterates homeland demand for Pandits

JAMMU, Mar 1: All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) in a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of D N Kissu its chairman criticized both Central and State governments for their complete failure in mitigating the sufferings of the displaced Pandits from the Valley who have entered into 27 th year of their exile.
The meeting said that despite having over 5000 year long history and being nationalists to the core, the Kashmiri Pandits hounded out from Valley by terrorists and separatists have suffered a lot over the years. The meeting said that the displaced Pandits have not been excluded from the areas of economy, political, social and cultural development programmes but also denied justice in their daily affairs by the successive governments.
Mr Kissu reiterated that solution of rehabilitation of Pandits and meeting their geopolitical aspirations lies in carving out a separate homeland in Valley without further delay.
Prof G L Koul chief advisor lamented for not granting minority status to the displaced community despite repeated appeals made to the State and Central governments satisfying all conditions for the same. He further said that the entire community is in complete despondency because of the dilapidated condition of temples and shrines which invite immediate attention and said that the passage of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Temples Bill becomes mandatory.
He made an appeal to Governor N N Vohra to promulgate an ordinance till the Bill is passed in the Legislature.
P L Sudeshi president ADKUF demanded enhancement of cash assistance in view of the increasing prices while P N Raina general secretary reiterated the demand that KPs be declared internally displaced community. Roshan Lal Raina, chief organizer of the organization, C L Koul its vice president and others also addressed the meeting.
