ADKUF reiterates one place settlement of Pandits in Valley

JAMMU, Feb 22: All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) has reiterated its demand regarding rehabilitation of Pandits at a single place in Valley.
In a meeting held here, today under the chairmanship of its president, it said delaying this programme again and again is making it more complicated and the displaced community feels frustrated by the indiscriminate approach of the Government towards the main issue.
The meeting, while discussing the issue of issuance of pass books to peasants and land owners by the UT Government has appealed it not to neglect the Pandits this time again and issue pass books to the community landowners also. Since the land mafia and encroachers have been active for the last 32 years of turmoil the irregularities, wrong entries and names of false owners and encroachers must be deleted and land records of Shrines and religious places should also be issued to the respective Prandhak Committees without any aberration.
The Forum has contested the Government claims of restoring of land to some Pandits and termed it too little a step among thousands of encroachment cases of land grabbing. Forum has expressed anguish over the closing of Grievance Portal by Commissioner Relief and Rehabilitation.
It appealed the Government that in view of coming festival of Shivratri elaborate arrangements be made to keep essential commodities available and have an effective control over prices hiked prior to every festival.
It demanded that the left out population should also be covered with both dozes of COVID vaccination while expressing its total satisfaction over the measures taken over by Government in controlling third wave of COVID in an effective manner.
