Adm Secy SED reviews functioning of JKBOSE

JAMMU, Jan 15: Administrative Secretary School Education Department (SED) B K Singh today visited JKBOSE Divisional Office located at Rehari Colony, Jammu and took stock of the functioning of the Board.
He interacted with the officers and staff of JKBOSE in order to get firsthand account of various processes like admissions, examinations, evaluation and various other academic initiatives taken in order to continually upgrade various student-centred mechanisms.
Singh, while appreciating various steps taken to combat the unprecedented challenges posed by COVID-19 pandemic, suggested many new initiatives like providing e-copy of answer sheets to students, sharing subject wise result data to the school teachers to assess learning outcomes for better classroom transaction management, improvising question papers to minimize memorizing of facts and assessing ability based skills etc.
“JKBOSE is one of the prime organizations of the country in the field of school education and has been working effectively to maintain, evaluate and upgrade the standards in consonance with the changing scenario and rising demands,” he added.
Chairperson JKBOSE, Prof Veena Pandita expressed her satisfaction on the functioning of JKBOSE and said, “The faith shown by the society in this organization always encourages us to think and act in the interest of the students and other stakeholders.”
Anuradha Gupta (Director School Education Jammu), Naseer Ahmad Wani (Additional Secretary School Education Department), Javid Ahmad Shagoo (Additional Secretary, Law, School Education Department) and Shoket Mehmood (Joint Director, School Education Department Jammu) attended the meeting. Mohammad Younis Malik (Director School Education, Kashmir) also participated in the meeting through online platform.
Earlier, Secretary Manisha Sarin made a Power Point Presentation regarding the vision, mission and functioning of the JKBOSE. Prof Dr Farooq Ahmed Peer, Director Academics, also made a Power Point presentation regarding the academic initiatives of the organization.
Prof Abdul Wahid Makhdoomi (Joint Secretary, IT & Publication), Dr Sudhir Singh (Joint Secretary, Secrecy/ Administration), JD, Jb Altaf Hussain, Jt Secretary Exams, JD, Kuldeep Kumar, Chief Accounts Officer, Jb Ghulam Hassan Wani, Deputy Secretary (Administration) and many others were also present.
