Admin brought miseries to people on all fronts: GCPF-JK

JAMMU, Aug 5: The LG Administration has brought miseries to the people on all fronts and they wanted to get rid of anti-people administration which had imposed heavy taxes, fees, tolls and services charges, including water and electricity bills, made it difficult for people to manage their day to day kitchen expenses.
This was stated by Prof Yash Paul Sanson, president of General Category People’s Front, Jammu Kashmir (GCPF-JK), in a meeting of the Front held today under the chairmanship of Raj Kumar Banathia, chairman of the Front. Sanson said unprecedented inflation, sky rocketing prices of essential commodities are J&K Government’s gift to people.
The GCPF-JK president expressed severe resentment against LG Administration for its harsh anti-people decisions alienating general masses from administration. He demanded provision for 300 units of free electricity to every household in J&K UT like Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, exempt pensioners from Income Tax as pension is not an income for any services or work.
Sanson also condemned continuation of Reservation without any review. He said providing reservation in the light of Mandal Commission report is illegal and not justifiable as during last 70 years, socio economic and political atmosphere of the country has totally changed. He appealed the Government to take bold steps for the eradication of this social evil existing in the shape of Reservation.
Som Nath Sharma (general secretary) appealed the Government of India to take initiative to end casteism and promote the principles of equality, justice liberty and dignity to all citizens ending all the restrictions imposed on the application of basic fundamental constitutional and democratic rights.
VK Sharma and Bhushan Pargal (both vice presidents) pleaded for respite from caste based, biased and prejudiced discrimination. Dr Bansi Lal, Surinder Kumar, Jagdish Dogra, Ravi Sahni and Gopal Dass Verma were present in the meeting.
