JAMMU, Feb 15: President J&K National Panthers Party (NPP), Vilakshan Singh has condemned J&K administration for creating chaos in the entire UT on the name of eviction drive.
He claimed that the eviction drive launched by the administration is unplanned and poor people are suffering the most due to this exercise.
“The verbal assurances given by LG Manoj Sinha are not enough for safeguarding interest of those who are in the possession of small pieces of State land,” Singh maintained adding: “The Administration should have carried out eviction drive in a phased manner firstly taking to task those who have encroached upon big chunks of land.”
The NPP leader said that without applying mind the administration has issued notices to even those persons who possess just a few square feet of State land.
He said that the government is equally responsible for illegal constructions over the State land as such constructions have not been raised within days.
“Instead of demolishing the structures raised on State land, either the government should charge the value of the land from the encroachers or should take possession of the said structures and pay compensation for the same,” Singh continued.
