DC issues strong warning to land encroachers

SAMBA, Sept 20: District Development Commissioner, Samba, Rohit Khajuria has retrieved about 350 Kanals of Custodian land encroached by one Prem Pal ex Sarpanch of National Conference (NC) in Barota Camp of Ramgarh tehsil in Samba district today.
Soon after the matter was brought into his notice, the district administration acted swiftly and got the land vacated from the clutches of land grabber. The DC issued on spot instructions to Tehsildar Ramgarh to remove the encroachment from the custodian land. The DC Samba after taking serious exception of granting electricity permission on Government land by the concerned departments also issued directives to Executive Engineer, Electric M&RE , Division, Vijaypur to remove the utilities from the encroached land and disconnect the power connections immediately.
He also took strong exception that how the PDD has given the power connection and fixed utilities on the Custodian land. The DC Samba has also warned the land encroachers to vacate the State or custodian land illegally occupied by them otherwise they will be dealt under law.
As per a complaint Prem Pal ex-Sarpanch has encroached about 350 kanals of Custodian land in Khajayal Khurd in Patwar Halqa Khanpur in tehsil Ramgarh of Samba district in addition to allotment of 32 Kanals of DP land to him in 1971. Approximately 50 persons of Barota Camp made the complaints in May last year with the Government including J&K Grievances Cell regarding the illegal encroachment.
Today officers of PDD, tehsildar Ramgarh, SDM Vijaypur, SHO Ramgarh and other senior officers of district Samba visited the area and removed the transformer and other installations on the encroached land installed by Prem Pal.
When contacted DC Samba, Rohit Khajuria said that the encroachment has been removed by a team of district administration and land has been retrieved from the clutches of the encroacher. He said that no illegally occupants of the State land or Custodian land in the district will be spared how influential he may be.
