REASI, May 13: Administrative quarantine of a middle aged tribal woman, who was mentally ill and had been missing six months ago, helped her to reunite with her family.
The said woman, namely Khatoon Jaan (55), wife of Yousuf, resident of Shikari, tehsil Mahor, was on way towards Reasi on foot when she was questioned by Policemen at Sulla Naka. As she was coming from Bhatindi area in Jammu, she was put up in quarantine centre. She completed her quarantine period on April 29, but no one from her home side came forward to receive her.
On hectic efforts by Police team of Police Station Mahore, the son of Khatoon Jaan was traced and informed accordingly. Yesterday, the woman was shifted from quarantine centre to P/S Mahore in the escort vehicle of SSP Reasi and her son namely Ghulam Ali was also called there.
The woman was handed over to her son, who informed the Police that his mother had gone missing six months ago and she was also mentally ill. The locals appreciated the role of Police in uniting mother with her son.
