Admission for diploma courses, entrance in mid June

RAJOURI, May 23: Speeding up process of 6th batch admission in 4 Engineering Diploma streams, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University’s Polytechnic has become first Centrally funded institution in Jammu & Kashmir which was established in collaboration with the State Government in 2009.
Under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof I A Hamal, the Polytechnic has speeded up the process of enrolling fresh students in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. Admission prospectus have already been launched for the same and is also available on University website.
Col K K Dogra, Principal of University Polytechnic said that there are many young school passouts who do not have the means to pursue higher studies and run from pillar to post in search of vocational training  to acquire some skill for making a living.
He said that applications are already invited and entrance examination is scheduled in June 2014 and firm date will be communicated later.
He said that emphasis is on imparting technical skills so that Diploma Engineers can also become efficient entrepreneurs and good industrial engineers & managers.
About the eligibility, Principal said that the eligibility for admission is Secondary School (Matriculation) examination from any recognized Board of School Education. He added that admission prospectus has been kept available at Regional Office Srinagar, Camp Office Jammu and sub office Kishtwar and youth must opt these courses for earning their bread and butter and lead the State on path of prosperity.
