Admitting groupism in Army, Azad said allegations against former Army Chief not proved yet

SRINAGAR, Sep 21: Admitting that there is groupism in every field in the country, Union minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today said that allegations against former Army Chief General V K Singh that he tried to topple coalition Government in J&K, have not been proved yet.

Talking to reporters on the side of a function here Mr Azad said there were allegation against General Singh that he used money to topple the Omar Abdullah Government in 2010.

The report has just appeared in a newspaper and no inquiry has been conducted, he said, adding that earlier also allegations against former Army chiefs and others have appeared in the past.

When he was asked that the newspaper report was based on the inquiry conducted by the Army, Mr Azad said it was unfortunate that the country was witnessing groupism in every field, including in the Army.

He said, “We should not draw any conclusion on newspaper  reports. (AGENCIES)
