RAMBAN, June 27: District administration Ramban conducted an anti encroachment drive along both sides of Jammu Srinagar National Highway (NH44) passing through Banihal areas and removed 38 structures.
Official sources said this step has been taken by the authorities to overcome the congestion alongside roads in adjoining areas of Banihal due to encroachments made by some shopkeepers.
During the anti-encroachment drive carried out by the teams headed by Tehsildar Banihal Imtiyaz Ahmed and Naib Tehsildar Banihal along with the Police department removed as many as 38 illegal structures by using JCB machines on Sunday.
Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam twitted, “38 illegal structures along within ROW on either side of Jammu Srinagar National Highway (NH44) removed in Banihal”.
