SAMBA, Jan 5: The monthly meeting of Western Pakistani refugees was organized at Swankha Morh under the leadership of Labba Ram Gandhi, president West Pak Refugees (WPR).
During the meeting the refugees highlighted the problems being faced by them after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A due to the callousness on the part of administration of JK UT. The Union Government has sanctioned the compensation to WPR at the same pattern of DPs of 1947, 1965 and 1971 but the local administration UT have adopted an attitude of non -cooperation while preparing documentation.
Labba Ram Gandhi appealed the Union Government to deploy the Special Nodal Officer who can deal with the compensation issue and also urged to make the easy process for the claimants.
Gandhi also complimented the Government of Jammu and Kashmir for providing the domicile certificate to the WPR. He said that now we can say that we are Indian with proud. He also supported the CAA and NPR drive initiated by the Government of India.
He said that CAA and NPR will identification to the Indians. This process can also help to make a check upon the crime as well as militant activities.
