JAMMU, Feb 1: All J&K Guru Ravi Das Sabha has alleged that Administration is delaying permission for the conduct of grand Shobha Yatra of Guru Dari Das Ji Maharaj on Feb 9 in Jammu City.
Addressing a press conference at Press Club here today, president of the Sabha Piran Ditta said that in connection with the Parkash Utsav of Guru Ravi Das Ji, the Sabha will take out a grand Shobha Yatra in Jammu City on Feb 9 while the main function will be held at Shri Guru Ravi Das Sabha Bhawan/Temple at Krishna Nagar, opposite GGM Science College on Canal Road. Jammu.
He further said that Sabha had applied for the permission of taking out religious procession/ Shobha Yatra on Dec 15, 2024 to the administration but till today after one and half months, no response has been received from the district administration. He said many works are still pending, and they are waiting for the permission. He appealed to the Government to grant permission for the Shobha Yatra on Feb 9.
Piran Ditta further alleged that some anti-social elements entered the Sabha Bhawan on Dec 29, 2024 and broke the locks of the main room and took control of the office. He said in this connection they have lodged an FIR with the concerned police but action on the part of police is yet awaited.
He claimed that as per the HC order of 2019, he is the president of the Sabha and he should be allowed to take control of the office till the proper elections are held. He appealed to the community members to participate in the function and Shobha Yatra in good number and offer prayers at Guru’s temple. He said that police authorities must ensure a smooth and peaceful function at the Sabha Bhawan.
