Admn must evacuate stranded students: CPI (M)

SRINAGAR, May 15: Communist Party of India (M) leader, Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami has said that a large number of students from Jammu and Kashmir studying in various educational institutions are stranded in different parts of the country and they should be evacuated.
In a letter written to the Lt Governor G C Murmu, the CPI (M) leader said that many J&K students are stranded in Hyderabad, Chennai, Gujarat, Jaipur, Kerala and other parts besides outside India, due to COVID-19 lockdown for the last almost two months. They are living under constant fear and distress with their families worried about their health and well-being. They are seeking help as they are unable to return back home due to the travel restrictions imposed by the Government to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
They want to return to their homes and are persistently appealing the Government to evacuate them. A large number of stranded students are facing financial distress after their education institutions were shut down.
Tarigami, wrote a letter to Lt Governor urging him to ensure that the administration makes special arrangements to bring them back to their homes at the earliest.
