Admn repatriates 115 migrant labourers to Chatisgarh

KATHUA, Feb 14: The district administration Kathua today repatriated 115 labourers from Chatisgarh working at a brick kiln in Khanpur area of the district after a NGO from Chatisgarh approached it that the working conditions were not good for these labourers.
The district administration Kathua few days back deputed a team led by ACR to the brick kiln and brought the labourers to DC Office Kathua. After taking their statements the officers send them in a bus to Amritsar, Punjab where from they will leave for Chatisgrah tomorrow.
These labourers were working at the kiln for years together and wanted to go to their home State. These labourers told reporters that they were not allowed to go to their home State and it forced them to seek the services of an NGO working for welfare of labourers in the country.
When contacted Assistant Labour Commissioner Kathua, Ganshyam said that the labourers had no problems but the NGO approached the administration saying that there working conditions were not good and they be deported to their home State. He said on the basis that the administration intervened and labourers were deported to their home State today.
