Admn urged to explore ways to check increasing death rate

JAMMU, May, 16: Drawing attention of the UT administration to explore ways and means to stop increasing deaths in Jammu region, a social activist Pankaj Kohli today urged the business houses to come forward in mitigating the sufferings of the people.
In a statement issued here, today he said “Everyone knows that death rate due to COVID-19 is unfortunately increasing in areas of Jammu region for the last few weeks and the authorities are unable to curb the trend”, The Government of the day, especially the medical experts, need to explain this phenomenon so that the doubts created in the minds of people are cleared, he said, adding even Centre has sent it’s team to Jammu to find the reasons of increasing cases and deaths.
Kohli appealed all political parties to rise above political considerations and serve people on humanitarian grounds.
He also appealed administration to allow medium class shopkeepers to attend their business houses once or twice in a week on rotational basis. There are many ways in which business houses could help the needy and those suffering from present crisis, he added.
