Admn withholds salaries of Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, GQs, field Patwaries

KISHTWAR, Aug 30: On the directions of Deputy Commis-sioner Angrez Singh Rana, the salaries of Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, GQs and field Patwaries have been kept withheld.
As per official spokesman, instructions were issued by Financial Commissioner Revenue, J&K wherein field Patwaries were directed to remain available at the specified places in their respective Patwar Halqas for at least two days in a week exclusively on every Monday and Thursday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm throughout the year so as to ensure that no work of any applicant shall remain pending with them.
In this connection, during various meetings held with officers and officials of Revenue Department District Kishtwar, Deputy Commissioner Angrez Singh Rana time and again has directed Tehsildars and Patwaris of the District to ensure the implementation of the instructions in letter and spirit and directed to furnish the details of specified places of the stay of Patwaries during the said days Monday and Thursday in their respective Patwar Halqas so that same can be circulated for the information of general public.
DC took strong note after observing that except Tehsil Mughalmaidan, no response was received from any other Tehsils of the District regarding the matter which tantamount to non compliance of Government orders and also deemed to be a serious lapse on the part of Revenue officials.
Rana added that complaints are pouring on regular basis through public of different areas alleging therein that Patwaries are not usually available in their Patwar Halqas and as such the poor villagers have to suffer a lot of inconvenience for getting their revenue related work done.
Based on directions of DC, the ACR Kishtwar Inderjeet Singh Parihar issued an order wherein District Treasury Officer and Treasury Officers have been asked not to entertain salary bills of Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, GQs and field Patwaries of Tehsil Bonjwah, Drabshalla, Kishtwar, Chatroo, Nagseni, Padder, Machail, Dachhan, Marwah and Warwan till further order.
