JAMMU, Jan 29: Dr Summit Mahajan, an Orthopaedic surgeon with an experience of 12 years and more than 8000 successful surgeries, has agreed to extend his services to people of Jammu & Kashmir.
Presently associated with Apollo multi-speciality hospital, Amritsar, Dr Mahajan is MS, DNB and M Ch in Orthopaedics and fellowship trained in joint replacement and arthroscopy from UK, Singapore, & Germany.
He has entered into an agreement with Pulse Hospital, Bye-pass road, Channi Himmat, Jammu and has already operated 10 joint replacements and 2 arthroscopies last month under Ayushman Bharat scheme.
For last few decades, people from Jammu & Kashmir are going out of the UT to get these surgeries. But now, Dr Summit Mahajan, who is well-known joint replacement and sports Injury surgeon in Amritsar, will operate golden card holder patients with knee and hip problems here in Jammu at Pulse Hospital on first and third Saturday of every month.
Not only this, same NOVO technique which is used in Amritsar will also be used here. In this technique, portable navigation system is used with no blood loss, no muscle cut, same day walk, and shorter hospital stay for all joint replacement patients.
Besides this, key-hole arthroscopic surgery, usually associated with sports injury will also be done. In this surgery, sports players can return to their profession again without being worried about their injuries.
