Advani calls up Rajnath, blames Modi’s elevation for BJP-JD(U) split

NEW DELHI, June 16:  BJP patriarch L K Advani is today learnt  to have called party president Rajnath Singh and blamed the  elevation of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for the  severing of ties with the JD(U).

Mr Advani is reported to have blamed the “hasty decision” of appointing Mr Modi as the BJP poll panel chief.

After Mr Modi’s elevation as the head of the poll campaign for the party for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Mr Advani resigned from key BJP posts only to retract following RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s intervention.

Mr Modi had on Tuesday welcomed the party patriarch’s decision.

Airing his views on social networking website Twitter, Mr Modi had said: “I had said yesterday that Advani ji will not disappoint lakhs of Karyakartas. Today, I wholeheartedly welcome his decision!”
