Republic Day celebrated with enthusiasm across Kashmir valley

SRINAGAR, Jan 27: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar unfurled the National Flag on the occasion of 73rd Republic Day at the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium. He inspected the parade and took the salute from the contingents of JKP, BSF, CRPF, JKAP, SSB, ITBP, IRP, Women contingent, Forest Protection Force and NCC.
Speaking on the occasion, Advisor Bhatnagar highlighted the significance of Constitution and said that the doctrine of our Constitution has laid the foundation of modern India we are currently living in. “Our founding fathers and visionary leaders brought together a diversity of views on a single platform to forge a common national spirit by drafting and enacting this unique constitution which has been imbibed from generation to generation”, Advisor Bhatnagar added.
The Advisor remarked that these are historic times for Jammu and Kashmir as it is seeing a new dawn. A dawn which promises hope, a dawn which will bring prosperity, a dawn which will lead to progress and development, a dawn which will usher J&K towards peace and the best way to overcome misgivings is to reaffirm our commitment to abide by the values of our Republic.
He added that Jammu and Kashmir has always been an integral part of the ethos and culture of India in each and every respect embracing every religion and every tradition of varied cultures. And this peaceful co-existence here has reflected in the lives of the inhabitants of this beautiful land.
Highlighting about the achievements of present administration, Advisor Bhatnagar said that after the unprecedented challenge of COVID-19 pandemic, the Government has amplified the medical infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir to safeguard the lives of our people and also to provide them best possible medical care.
“Our UT of J&K has fared exceptionally well in the Covid Management as No bed or Oxygen shortage was faced during the two waves of Covid 19 Pandemic. 100% administration of 1st dose of covid vaccine to the eligible population above 18 years has been achieved and the vaccination of the age group 15-18 is going on”, the Advisor said.
On the occasion, colourful cultural programme was also presented by the artists of J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages in the form of traditional Rouf, Bandpather and Dambali which mesmerised the audiences. Also, awards were presented to winners of Best March Past and Best cultural programme. The winners of online competition in the categories of Best Paintings, Best essay and Best seminars were also awarded on the occasion.
ANANTNAG: The Republic Day function was held at GDC for Boys Khanabal where Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Anantnag, Mohammad Yousuf Gorsi unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the parade.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairman said that the nation is paying rich tributes to the leaders, freedom fighters and martyrs who made countless sacrifices for the freedom of the country. Glorifying their contributions, he said that it is the result of their supreme efforts that we are living in a free country.
Gorsi highlighted the Covid-19 mitigation efforts besides achievements made by the district under various priority areas including education, healthcare, languishing, back to village, district capex, agriculture and allied sectors, women and youth empowerment, MGNREGA, JJM, water and electricity supply to Anganwadi Centers and schools, rural development, macadamization and road connectivity, Social Welfare, Nasha Mukt Bharat, Industries, self employment and creation of durable and sustainable assets.
On the occasion, colourful cultural programmes on patriotic themes were presented by students and artists of the district.
BARAMULLA: Reiterating that nation is progressing in all fronts and Baramulla district is no exception to it, the Chairperson District Development Council Baramulla Safeena Beigh said that district is recognized as an Aspirational District and the fastest developing District in the country and the need of the hour is to make involvement of youth in the progress of the district by utilizing their potential in all the sectors.
The Chairperson made these remarks on the occasion of Republic Day Celebration at District Police Lines Baramulla where she unfurled the Tricolor besides inspected the parade and took a salute at the march past. The march past was presented by the contingents of J&K Police, CRPF, Home guards, Fire and Emergency services, NCC and students from different schools.
The Chairperson underlined the need to involve the youth to take part in democratic process so that they will contribute to the national building and do their part in strengthening democratic values of the Nation.
DIG North Kashmir, Uday Bhaskar Billa, Principal District and Sessions Judge Baramulla, Mohammad Yousuf Wani, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Bhupinder Kumar, SSP Baramulla, Rayees Mohammad Bhat, DDC members, BDC Chairpersons, MC Presidents, Officers of Judicial administration, Officers of Army and Police, District and sectoral officers, heads of different departments besides a huge gathering of people and students witnessed their overwhelming participation.
BUDGAM: The Republic Day was today celebrated with much zeal and zest across the district, with DDC Chairman Nazir Ahmad Khan unfurled the National Flag and took salute at the march-past at Sports Stadium Budgam, where main function was held.
On the occasion, various contingents from JKP, JKAP, CRPF, Home guards, NCC Cadets besides Contingents of education institutions also participated in the march-past parade. Among others, SSP Budgam Tahir Saleem Khan, ADDC Budgam Dr. Akramullah Tak, ADC Budgam Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone, ASP, Gowhar Ahmad, GM DIC, Dr. Mohammad Ashraf, district officers and officers from Army, CRPF and BSF were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Nazir Ahmad Khan paid rich tributes to leaders for drafting the Indian Constitution. He also appreciated the Covid Warriors for their selfless efforts during Pandemic and highlighted the development works carried out during the year.
Chairman also deliberated on the ongoing development scenario of the district and said that the district Budgam is touching new heights with active participation of people in government initiatives. On the occasion, various artists and school children presented various colorful cultural programs including Rouf, Ladishah, patriotic songs, Bangda, enthralling the audience, present there.
GANDERBAL: The District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson Nuzhat Ishfaq unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at the March Past presented on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson lauded the importance of Republic Day celebration and highlighted the various developmental achievements registered by district administration in different sectors in the district besides implementation of welfare schemes as on 73rd Republic Day.
To give a flip to the developmental activities in the district, she said that 75 projects are approved under the Languishing scheme at the cost of Rs 215 crore due to which the developmental scenario of the district will get changed and most of services would be available at the door steps of general public, once these projects get completed.
She also highlighted the importance of the Back to Village program and the My Town My Pride initiative. She said district Ganderbal has done remarkable work in implementation of centrally sponsored schemes. She also lauded the district Administration for its efforts in containing Covid pandemic in the district and urged the general public to follow Covid protocols strictly to avert the threat of Covid 3rd wave.
The event was witnessed by SSP Ganderbal, President Municipal Council Ganderbal, ADDC, ADC, ASP, DDC members, BDC Chairpersons, Municipal Councilors besides various officers and officials from Police and District Administration.
PULWAMA: A grand function was organized at DPL Pulwama where Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Pulwama, Syed Abdul Bari unfurled the National Flag and took salute at parade comprising contingents from CRPF, JKP, JKP Women’s Wing, Commando Palato, JKAP, Fire & Emergency, Home Guard, Youth Services & Sports Contingent and Band Squad contingent.
Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudary, Additional District Development Commissioner Pulwama Dr. Sheikh Ab Aziz, SP Pulwama Ghulam Jeelani, besides all District Civil, Police officers, DDC Members, BDC Members, PRI members, and large no of people were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson highlighted the developmental scenario of the district and said that District Capex Budget of Rs 407.82 crore has been approved which is three times more than the District Capex budget of 2020-21.
Meanwhile, Officers, Officials, Organizations and Individuals were awarded for achieving excellence in public services, Academics, Sports, Arts, Literature and Social Services.
SHOPIAN: The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated at District Police Lines (DPL) Shopian where DDC Chairperson, Bilqees Jan hoisted the Tricolour and took salute at march past presented by contingents of CRPF, JKP, IRP, Forest Protection Police, Homeguards and school children.
District Magistrate, Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya was the “Guest of Honour” on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson aspired all to uphold constitutional values and ethics in letter and spirit. She appreciated the District Administration for their fight against COVID-19 and also hailed the people’s cooperation on this behalf and said that keeping in view the 3rd wave of Covid-19, we all should together support the District Administration in eradicating the disease entirely.
A variety cultural programme was performed by the Information Department and school children of various Educational Institutions featuring patriotic songs and music amid thunderous applause from the spectators. The function concluded with felicitation of the Government officers/officials for their extraordinary services including restoration of power supply, portable drinking water facility, snow clearance, road connectivity and presentation of the prizes to the participants.
KULGAM: A grand function was held at District Police Lines Kulgam where Chairperson District Development Council (DDC), Mohammad Afzal Parrey, hoisted the National Flag and took salute at the March past presented by the contingents of CRPF, JKP, JKP ladies police group, Home guard, fresh recruits, NCC cadets etc.
DDC, Vice Chairperson, Shazia Jan, DDC members, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, SSP, Dr. G.V. Sandeep, BDC, President Municipal Council, Commandant CRPF 18th battalion, besides officers from civil and police administration and people participated in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairperson District Development Council highlighted the importance and historical background of the day. He highlighted the efforts of administration to combat Covid-19 pandemic efficiently and complimented the District Administration for their meticulous planning and role.
Giving a developmental profile of the district, the DDC Chairperson highlighted achievements recorded in Agriculture, Horticulture, RDD, R&B, Health, Social Welfare, YS&S, PHE and other departments. Multiple Cultural programs and musical sessions were also held on the occasion which enthralled the audience.
KUPWARA: The Main function was held at District Police Lines (DPL), Kupwara where Chairman District Development Council (DDC), Irfan Sultan Panditpori unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade and took salute at march-past presented by contingents of JKP, JKAP, CRPF, IRP, Home Guards, FPF and police band.
Vice Chairman DDC, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir; Principal District & Sessions Judge Kupwara, Tasleem Arief; Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din; Senior Officers of District Administration and Police including SSP Kupwara, Yougal Manhas; ADDC, Altaf Ahmad Khan; ADC Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat, District Officers, DDC members, BDC Chairpersons and PRIs besides, general public and Media persons attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman DDC said it is because of the great values of Constitution, a new era of development has ushered in far flung district Kupwara, adding that the three tier Panchayati Raj System has built up an initiative of development across the district. He highlighted the developmental scenario of the district.
A variety of multilingual cultural programmes were presented by school children representing various schools and educational institutions and artists at the occasion. Later, the dignitaries distributed awards and certificates of appreciation among the officers and functionaries of the administration.
BANDIPORA: The main function was held at SK Stadium where Chairman District Development Council Abdul Gani Bhat unfurled the National Flag and inspected the parade.
Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad, SSP Bandipora, Mohammad Zahid, Vice Chairperson DDC, Kounser Shafeeq, ADDC Ali Afsar Khan, Joint Director, Planning, Imtiyaz Ahmad, officers of civil administration, police and Army besides representatives of Panchayat Raj Institutions were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the DDC Chairman highlighted the importance of the day and the achievements registered in the district. He said the current financial year witnessed major developmental activities in the district despite major challenges of COVID-19 pandemic. He said the people in unison bravely fought the challenges of the pandemic and lauded the efforts of the frontline workers to help in fighting the pandemic besides hailing the cooperation of the people in tackling the pandemic.
Later, students presented several cultural programmes that enthralled the audience who appreciated the performers by huge applause.
