Advisor Narula reviews progress of languishing projects

LEH, June 23: A meeting was convened by Advisor UT Ladakh, Umang Narula to review the progress of languishing projects, which was attended by Commissioner/Secretary Rigzian Sampheal, Deputy Commissioner Leh Sachin Kumar Vaishya, District Superintending Engineer Leh, PK Sharma and Deputy Director Planning Tsering Angdus.
Deputy Commissioner Kargil Baseer-ul-Haq Choudhary and District Superintending Engineer Kargil Vaid Prakash participated in the meeting through video conference.
The meeting discussed in detail the status of languishing projects of all the departments. The Deputy Commissioner Kargil informed the meeting that 110 works are sanctioned under the scheme out of which 99 works are under execution. Deputy Commissioner Leh informed that 77 works are sanctioned under the scheme and 72 works are under execution.
The Advisor issued instructions to the Administrative Secretaries to monitor and expedite the execution of these works. He asked them to review the progress of execution of the works at regular intervals. Further he asked them to ensure that all requisite approvals and sanctions be completed by 30th June, 2020.
The Deputy Commissioners were asked to review the work done liabilities and to ensure that these are processed on time for payments. Advisor, Ladakh also asked them to identify important projects that can be taken up under the scheme. Further the Deputy Commissioners were instructed to prioritize the execution of works of helipads under the scheme to improve connectivity to far flung areas.
