SRINAGAR, Oct 15: Advisor to Governor, K.K Sharma today directed the officers of Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) Limited to ensure that timely payment is made to the contractors—whose work is satisfactory and up to the mark so that the speed of implementation of various welfare programmes doesn’t get delayed.
The Advisor was speaking at 95th meeting of the Board of Directors of Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) Limited here.
The Financial Commissioner Finance, A.K Mehta, Managing Director JKPCC, M. Raju, Director General, Planning, Saheb Zada Bilal, Chief Engineers, Jammu, Kashmir among other senior officers of Finance and R&B were present.
While reviewing the functioning of the Corporation, the Advisor directed the officers for timely completion of various projects being undertaken by the corporation— directing strict adherence to the timelines and detailed project reports (DPRS) by different departments.
The Advisor while taking a serious note of the delay in payments directed formulating a mechanism by which a timely payment would be ensured to the contractors whose job is satisfactory and up to mark, besides putting in place various corrective measures to be taken against the erring ones.
He said that necessary action should also be initiated against the delinquent officials.
He said that several corrective measures should be put in place which would provide feedback about the quality of material and the status of completion of various government run schemes.
