Advisory Comm to formulate policies

JAMMU, Oct 15: To formulate policies regarding selection of candidates to various professional courses, the Governor’s Administration today accorded sanction to the constitution of an Advisory Committee for two years.
Chairman, J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations shall be Convener of the Advisory Committee, which shall frame policies for the smooth and transparent functioning of the Board and to devise policies to ensure efficient conduct of the entrance tests by the Board.
The Committee shall also suggest measures for maintenance of records of the entrance tests conducted by the Board and approve any plan submitted by the Board to ensure timely conclusion of the admission process and counselling thereof.
According to an order, issued by the GAD, the Committee shall approve any contingency plan prepared by the Board to strengthen the existing infrastructure, approve any proposal prepared by the Board for consideration of the Government and approve Annual Report prepared by the Board.
The 22-Member Committee shall be comprising Chairman JK BOSE; Chairman Permanent Statutory Committee or his nominee; Controller, CBSE New Delhi; Dean Academic Affairs of Jammu and Kashmir Universities, SKIMS Srinagar; Dean, CDC of Jammu and Kashmir Universities; one HoD of these two universities; Principals of GMC Jammu, Srinagar and IDS, Jammu; one Principal each of the colleges from Jammu/ Kashmir having specialization in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English; one Professor and one Associate Professor each of the universities of Jammu and Kashmir having specialization in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English.
Other Members of the Committee include one Principal each of Higher Secondary Schools of Jammu and Kashmir, having specialization in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English; Controller, J&K BOPEE; Secretary, J&K BOPEE; representative of Higher Education Department (not below the rank of Addl Secretary); one representative each of GAD, Technical Education Department, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and one Lecturer each of Higher Secondary Schools of Jammu and Kashmir, having specialization in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English.
