JAMMU, Apr 6: In a startling revealation in the Greater Kailash robbery case, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed that the key conspirator, Advocate Rahul Sharma, also plotted and executed the murder of a youth, Harsh Dev Sharma, to cover up the crime.
Addressing media persons here, SP Jammu South Ajay Sharma revealed that Harsh, a close friend of the prime accused Sunil Sharma, had knowledge of the robbery and was demanding a share of the stolen money.
Fearing arrest, Advocate Rahul Sharma allegedly got Harsh murdered with the help of two others—Bharat Sharma of Bishnah and Tushar Sharma, the other accused of the Greater Kailash loot case, he said.
The SP Jammu South said that the crime took place on April 1 in the Mansar area of Samba district.

According to him, Harsh was taken there (Mansar) under the pretext of celebrating Rahul Sharma’s birthday, where he was stoned to death.
His body was later disposed in the Surinsar area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli in Jammu district, the police officer said.
He said the case came to light after Harsh’s family lodged a missing report at Police Station Satwari.
During investigation and analysis of Harsh’s mobile data, he said, police discovered his regular contact with Sunil Sharma and Bharat Sharma.
The police officer said that both Sunil and Harsh were drug addicts and known to each other for a long time.
He said on February 1—the day of the Greater Kailash robbery—Sunil allegedly disclosed the plan to Harsh.
Ten days later, Rahul admitted Sunil to a de-addiction centre in Kathua, cutting off his contact with Harsh, he said.
Feeling betrayed and demanding his share, Harsh began threatening Rahul Sharma, which led to the murder conspiracy, the SP said.
Police have recovered Harsh’s body and registered a fresh FIR number 68/2025 under sections 103 and 301/35 of the BNS at Police Station Satwari, he said.
A Scorpio vehicle used in both the robbery and the murder has also been recovered, he said.
During further probe, it was also found that the accused had burnt the helmet and suits used during the Greater Kailash theft to destroy evidence, the police officer said, adding that further investigation into the case is underway.
