SRINAGAR, Apr 12: The Assistant Executive Engineer of Roads and Buildings (R&B), Qazigund has written a letter to the Station House Officer (SHO) of the police station in the area, alleging that Tehsildar Qazigund, Khursheed Ahmad Tantray, along with his staff, forcibly entered the sub-divisional office and occupied it.
The letter claims that the Tehsildar and his team tore down the office’s perimeter wall and removed files, lockers, seats, tables, and desks from the record room before throwing them outside, injuring some of the documents in the process.
The Tehsildar allegedly used abusive language against the Worthy Superintending Engineer as well as four gazetted officials (AEs) and junior engineers (JEs) while disputing with the workers of the sub divisional office, according to the AEE.
The official has asked the SHO to investigate the matter and file a police report against the involved Tehsildar. The incident has created quite a stir in the local government, and the authorities have promised that the accused would face the proper consequences.
The Assistant Executive Engineer has also urged for prompt action to safeguard the security of the office’s workers and voiced concern about their safety. We’re anticipating more developments in this case.
