SAMBA, Mar 16: Taking prompt cognizance of public complaints against the poor functioning of Power Development Department, Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, today paid a surprise visit to the Sub Division office of EM &RE and suspended an Assistant Executive Engineer, a Junior Engineer and a Meter reader for dereliction of duty.
The DC expressed deep concern over poor functioning and handling of complaints and general public queries by the officials.
He also ordered attachment of the erring officials in his office till the completion of the pending enquiry.
During the visit, it was found that most of the employees were absent. The locals informed that the general public visited PDD office to avail amnesty scheme of JK Govt , but most the staff was absent.
The DC directed all the employees working in district Samba to remain present in the office besides giving public grievances utmost importance.
