POONCH, Apr 10: An Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) and a minor boy were injured after they were hit by a tractor- trolley in Mendhar area of district Poonch today.
Police sources said that AEE Showkat Ahmed and his minor nephew, Imran Qadir, son of Qadir Ahmed, residents of Java Bera village were hit by a tractor trolley on Kucha road near Mendhar Nallah. While tractor trolley driver managed to escape along with his Trolley despite being chased by AEE’s brother from the spot, the injured were rushed to local hospital.
Later, his brother, a junior engineer intercepted tractor trolley near Bus Stand and dragged driver out of his seat. Some associates of the driver from nearby trolleys rushed for the rescue and then they beat up the JE and left him seriously injured without knowing about the act of the driver involved in `hit and run’.
Later, injured JE was also removed to Mendhar Hospital. Minor boy Imran and JE Farid Ahmed were then referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu. The police registered a case FIR No. 149/ 2018 against the accused driver Zaffar, resident of Bera village and also seized the tractor trolley.
