JAMMU, Apr 4: It is most unfortunate that even after the killings of 25 members of Sikh community and injuries to eight in an attack on a Gurudwara in the capital city of Afghanistan some days ago, no effective steps have been taken by the Afghanistan Government for the security of the community and also the Gurudwara, where this massacre took place while people were performing morning prayers.
This was stated by National Sikh Front chairman & Jammu Kashmir BJP senior leader, Virenderjeet Singh, while expressing sympathies with the bereaved families. He stressed upon the Afghanistan Government to immediately provide adequate security around the Gurudwara and also deploy good strength of security men in the areas housing population of Sikhs and other minorities in different parts of Afghanistan. As the Sikhs in Afghanistan are living under the shadow of threats and feeling insecure, inducing a sense of safety becomes the duty of the Government and it should take care of its citizens without discriminating on the basis of one’s religion or gender, he added.
