Afroz Mir’s poetic collection ‘Molil Khaab’ released

SRINAGAR, Oct 30: Molil Khaab, a poetic collection by Afroz Mir was released at an impressive function at B. Ed College Auditorium, here today.
Minister for Public Works, Floriculture, Gardens & Parks, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, MLA M. Y. Tarigami, former Minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir and Dr G. Q. Allaqband were among the prominent personalities present on the book release function.
Speaking on the occasion, Altaf Bukhari praised the writer for his collection of poems which has been published in Kashmiri language. He said this will go in promoting Kashmiri language in the State.
The Minister said the Government has taken several initiatives for promotion of cultural activities in the State, adding renovation of Tagore Hall was aimed to provide a platform to writers and artists for cultural literary activities. “Young writers have an important role in preserving and promotion the Kashmir language, our mother-tongue,” he added.
Ghulam Hassan Mir and M. Y. Tarigami also spoke on the occasion and lauded the efforts of the writer. They said the writers play a key role in showcasing our rich cultural heritage, in particular our mother tongue. They called for collective efforts to encourage young and budding writers to take up writing on a much higher pedestal.
Afroz Mir, the author of the poetic collection hails from Tangmarg and is the son of former Minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir.
Veteran literary personalities, poets and a large number of journalists were also present on the occasion.
