SRINAGAR, Sept 30: After 22 long years a Mahayagya was solemnized at Amrit Kund Pukhribal near here today.
The Maha Yagya, which was organized by Samajik Vikas Sansthan led by Kuldeep Raina started yesterday evening and Puranahuti was performed this afternoon.
A large number of devotees attended the function. They were served prashad after Puranhauti.
Former Chief Secretary and MLC, Vijay Bakaya also attended the function. The Hawan was performed under the supervision of Jyotshi Omkar Nath Shastri. On the occasion Bhajan Kirtan was also performed and Samohik Aarti was held for peace and prosperity.
The CRPF 82 Batallion and J&K Police had made all arrangements for the pilgrims. The Sansthan complimented them as well as PDD for making arrangements for round the clock power supply at the shrine during Maha Yagya. The Sanstahan in association with the Amritkund Pukhribal Prabandhak Committee has undertaken the development of shrine said S L Bhan another officer bearer of the Sansthan.
