SRINAGAR, Apr 28: After 33 years an annual Hawan of Mata Ragyneya Bhagwati at Swami Mastbab Ashram Badhipur, Chadora. Budgam in Kashmir Valley was solemnised today.
In spite of inclement weather and cold wave like situation in the Valley, hundreds of devotees drawn from Delhi, Jammu as well as Kashmir Valley attended this holy religious event.
District administration headed by Sayeed Fakhrudin Hamid, DC Budgam joined the programme and prayed for universal peace and brotherhood. Local Muslim brothers also helped in arranging preparation of this religious function at short notice. Swami Mastbab Maharaj had shifted to Badhipur after his Guru Swami Nand Lal Ji’s Nirwan in 1967 and constructed Mata Ragyneya temple and Darmshala there, which was later razed to ground during turmoil. Now work on construction of new building is going on and it will be completed by this year.
The hawan started yesterday evening with Kalash Puja and will culminate with Puran Ahuti this afternoon. There was a total religious festivity at the shrine. The devotees participated in Bhajan Kirtan and after culmination of Hawan they were served with Prashad.
