JAMMU, Dec 9: As a part of “Save the Girl Child” campaign, Art of Living teacher, Rishika Sahoo, today reached Jammu after touring all 29 states of India covering 17000 km on a scooty.
With a motive to spread awareness in society against female foeticide and “Save The Girl Child” campaign, she started her journey on September 14 this year from Bhuvneshwer, Orissa and covered all the 29 states of India in 85 days on a scooty driving over 17000 km.
Today on reaching Jammu, Art of Living, Jammu Chapter, along with people of different sections of the society gave her a rousing reception. The main function was held at NITS Polytechnic, Miran Sahib, Jammu, where she addressed a gathering of more than 700 female and male students and made them aware about her campaign pan India.
She gave stress on adopting different methods and ideology to promote the cause of “Save The Girl Child” in society and explained how media can help by spreading message against female foeticide and save girl generations, and also added how youth can work to stop dowry.
Quoting that woman are the main architect of the family, she touched the topics how to be best parent for girl child, improve male female ratio and equal rights to women. Her advice to male students was not to take path of retaliation and save their friends from crimes which can help a lot in achieving such objective.
