Pune July 23 : National President of Agarwal Marwadi Chamber of commerce and Education Rajesh Agarwal has raised concerns over inclusion of the Goods and services Tax network under the purview of the prevention of Money Laundering Act without any approval of GST Council.
Agarwal said as per the the new provision of GST Act, Enforcement Directorate (ED) action can take action which is an indirect attempt to “scare” the country’s business class.
Agarwal said the Executive body of the chamber has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding immediate scrapping of the new provision for the benefit of the business communities, who are contributing yo the growth of the country’s economy.
The letter was also marked to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman along with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister, Ajit Pawar.
Agarwal said if the GST Act is violated, money laundering action can be taken in case of tax evasion. So it will be unfair to traders who pay GST regularly.
