RAJOURI, June 17: Students, who could not get through in the Class 12 results declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education a few days back, today protested alleging discrepancies in the result.
The aggrieved students from different areas of the district assembled at the Children’s Park in Rajouri Town and shouted slogans against the J&K Board of School Education.
Led by Mohd Kaif and Mohd Zahid, they took out a protest march and reached outside the sub-office of the JKBOSE where they held demonstration amid raising of slogans and blocked the Rajouri Jammu road.
Alleging discrepancies in the result, they claimed that some students have been declared failed despite scoring requisite numbers for passing the subject while some others have been passed notwithstanding their marks below the required minimum.
This has happened for the first time that one student has been declared passed and another failed despite the both scoring same number of marks, they said and demanded that the board should re-look into the result and rectify the discrepancies.
Later, SHO Rajouri Mohammad Showket Chowdhary and Deputy SP Headquarter Rajouri Mudassir Hussain reached the spot and assured the protesting students that they would take up their matter with the higher officials of the Board following which the protest was suspended.
