Agnishekhar seeks PM’s intervention in redressal of KPs problems

NEW DELHI, May 31: On the last leg of his organizational tour to various cities in North India, Dr Agnishekhar, convener Panun Kashmir (PK) addressed a large gathering of people consisting of activists of P K, Kashmira Vahini and Youth for P K here today.
Dr. Agnishekhar apprised the meeting about the inhuman hardships being faced by the displaced Kashmiri Pandits living in Jagati and elsewhere. He told the gathering that Panun Kashmir along with entire Kashmiri Pandit diaspora was one with the tribulations of the residents of Jagati town ship. He also said as the Government of Jammu and Kashmir had turned a blind eye towards the legitimate demands of the residents of Jagati, Panun Kashmir has decided to take up the issue directly with Prime Minister of India. Dr. Agnishekhar also released the copy of a letter he had written to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
In the letter attention of the Prime Minister has been drawn towards the immense hardships faced by the residents of Jagati township in particular and other displaced people in general.
Pointing out the inhuman miseries perpetrated on the Jagati residents by virtual absence of power supply to town ship, Dr. Agnishekhar termed the conditions akin to genocide. He demanded an unconditional restoration of power supply to the Jagati.
He also demanded to know how the status of erstwhile camp dwellers had changed simply by relocating to the town ship. He warned to Government that if an immediate solution was not found to the problems confronting them, the thousands of Jagati residents would be forced to march down to Delhi and hold demonstrations there.
PK leader also demanded enhancement of cash relief to Rs. 25.000/- and withdrawal of draconian conditions attached to PM’s employment package.
