JAMMU, June 8; Dr Agnishekhar a well known poet, scholar and thinker has been chosen by the Centenary Celebration Jury of Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan for conferring of ‘Sahitya Sammela Shatabdhi Samman’.
The award will be presented to him tomorrow at a grand function to be inaugurated by the Governor of Bihar, Lalji Tandon at Patna. The Centenary awards will be given to the awardees by the Governor of West Begal, Keshri Nath Tripathi. This was stated in a handout issued by Sanmukh, a forum for poets, writers and artists in exile from Kashmir.
Bihar Hindi Sahitya Sammelan , which was mainly a dream come true of India’s first President, Dr Rajendra Prasad whose inspiration and cooperation was enormous, is celebrating its Centenary year in a very big way at different levels. In this connection organisers have decided to choose 100 contemporary Hindi writers, scholars and language missionaries for this Shatabdhi Samman.
A prolific Hindi poet, writer and thinker Dr Agnishekhar has authored so many award winning books which include among other works his widely discussed poetry collection ‘Jawahar Tunnel ‘. It may be recalled that Dr Agnishekhar has written significantly on several aspects of sociological study of Kashmiri Folklore too.
