Agri employees reiterate demand of postponing Kissan Pakhwadas

JAMMU, July 16: All J&K Agriculture Employees Association (AAEA) Jammu province in a meeting here, today reiterated the demand regarding postponement of Kissan Pakhwada in view of spread of Corona Virus among the employees of the Department and death of a senior officer some days back due to COVID Pandemic.
The meeting which was held under the chairmanship of Uttam Chand Sharma, president of the Association to condole the sad demise of Tejinder Pal Singh , Research Assistant Pesticides Lab Jammu who became the victim of dreaded disease while performing his official duty has demanded that the officer be declared as martyr and his family be provided an ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh and job to next kin.
The meeting prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul. It appealed the Commissioner Secretary, Agriculture Production Department to postpone Kissan Pakhwada and other activities as SOPs are not being maintained by the farming community in the gatherings and there is high risk of spreading COVID in the farming community as well as the employees of agriculture and other associated departments.
The Association also demanded issuance cover of Rs 50 lakh for agri employees on pattern of doctors, para medical staff and security forces. The other members who attended the meeting included Zafar Ullah Khan, Naresh Sharma, S Dilbagh Singh, Surinder Kumar, Tarlok Singh, Pawan Singh, Kishore Kumar and Deep Kumar.
