JAMMU, Sept 14: Agric-ulture officers here today urged Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, Advisor to the Governor to look into their demand of conducting Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) to promote VEWs/JAAs/JAEOs to class-VII gazetted.
In a handout Jammu Kashmir Graduate Promotee Agriculture Officer`s Association (JKGPAOA) president, Arun Gupta appealed to the Advisor to follow this by fixing the seniority list for further promotion to class-VI and above by conducting DPC.
He lamented on denial of promotions to promotees as per their due quota for decades together and further stated that the alleged injustice dragged the deserving candidates to file various court cases and in one surprising instance, the J&K Government Agriculture Production Department (JKAPD) instead of implementing the judgement of High Court filed LPA which harassed the genuine claimants as it lingered the DPC process.
Gupta said, in the meantime JKAPD, keeping aside all the High Court stays and directions, issued impugned orders of temporary promotions and further complicated the process of functional promotions.
He insisted that the recent High Court directions passed on September 5, 2018 should be adhered to in letter and spirit and quoted the HC order to say that impugned temporary promotion orders of functional promotions to Graduate Promotee Agriculture Officers to class-VII be quashed and promotion to class-VI and above should be done by conducting DPC.
