Agricultural technocrats discuss demands

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Aug 6: Agricultural technocrats today held a meeting under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Agricultural Technocrats Association (JKATA) and discussed their burning demands.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr Vishal Manhas, chairman, JKATA, at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo, Jammu.
While speaking on the occasion, Vishal Manhas, said that agricultural technocrats of the State have been forced to put in the grade pay and designation which is lower than the post reserved for Agriculture graduates.
He said that it is irony that on one hand simply matriculate candidates have been made JAEO and on the other hand agriculture technocrats, who are graduates/post graduates/PHDs, have been forced to work on a post of VAEA, which is lower than JEOA.
Manhas said that they should be treated at par with VAEA and all anomalies between JAEO and VAEA cleared. He further demanded benefit of Old Pension scheme.
He informed the meeting that recently the association wrote a letter to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi regarding discrimination with agriculture technocrats, in response of which PMO has written to Chief Secretary of the State, for appropriate action in this regard.
Manhas said that they will soon meet the Chief Secretary and take up the matter with him for early solution.
