Agriculture Deptt briefs farmers on rice production

JAMMU, Sept 29: Department of Agriculture, Jammu organized three day training session programme at Panchayat Garkhal in Akhnoor.
The main motive of the training programme was to impart knowledge among the farmers about seed production of fine varieties of basmati rice so that farmers can produce best quality of seed and obtain higher yield by using modern scientific techniques in the field. In the training programme the Agriculture Department trained 125 progressive farmers including Sarpanch and Panchs the area on seed production.
The training programme was held under the guidance of Chief Agriculture Officer, Jammu Farooq Ahmed Bhat and Sub Divisional Agri. Officer, Akhnoor Chandeshwar Dubey. The whole programme supervised by AEO, Bomal S. Jatinder Singh who made the farmers aware about the importance of seed production and equipped them with latest technical know-how in the field.
The programme was arranged by Surinder Singh, AEA Garkhal who also delivered lecture on organic farming and encouraged the farmers to adopt organic farming. Yeshpal Singh, AEA and Rohit Gupta, AEA also gave assistance during the training programme.
