KISHTWAR, Mar 5: The Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers’ Welfare Sub Division Paddar today organized an awareness camp here at Panchayat Tipri in Block Bounjwah.
Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Paddar Sahil Gandotra; Agriculture Extension Officer Ampy Singh, Jr. Agriculture Extension Officers Ajay Chander Sharma along with farmers were present on the occasion.
The programme was organised under SMAE (ATMA) and attended by 25 number progressive farmers of the Panchayat Tipri.
The farmers were made aware about the Central schemes being implemented for development and uplift of the farming community and to achieve the vision of the Prime Minister to double the Income of Farmers.
The farmers are already being benefited by various centrally sponsored schemes like SMAM which enables the farmers to obtain government assistance to upgrade their Mechanized Agricultural Inputs, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, KCC, PMDP, ATMA, NFSM, PMKSY etc under which the willing farmers can obtain assistance for various modernized systems which will strengthen the farming community of the area .
As the cropping season is to start in this area, the different kinds of hybrid and HYV of vegetable seeds are available on 50 % Subsidy at the Agriculture sale store of the area and also displayed in the camp, some interested farmers of the area have purchased the vegetable seed there.
Ajay Chander Sharma, in his address, emphasized on the integrated farming system in Mushroom cultivation, Bee keeping, Cultivation of Aromatic plants, On the occasion the farming community was reminded of how the community strengthens and contributes to the GDP of this great nation and why our young generation should adopt farming as their profession to make the whole community prosperous.
The camp was attended by Sarpanch Misser Din along with PRI members of the Tipri Panchayat of the Block Bounjwah.
