JAMMU, July 21: A joint delegation of core committee of All Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture Officers Welfare Forum (AJKAOWF), led by Vijay Upadhaya and Executive Committee of Non-Gazetted Agriculture Graduate Association (NGAGA), led by Pradeep Sharma, today called on Director Agriculture Jammu and demanded filling up of all vacancies on interim basis on the pattern of Kashmir division till settlement of DPC.
The delegation had a detailed discussion with the Director, Dr S S Jamwal, relating to vacuum prevailing in the department due to piling up of vacancies at all levels and multichargism affecting functioning of the department.
Deputation stressed that if rational deployment of cadre is done, 157 JAEOs can be placed as AEOs; 105 AEOs can be placed in Sub-Division Level; 61 Sub-Divisional Level Officers can go to the District level and seven officer to Divisional level, resulting in filling up of 280 vacancies in total thus making the department more functional and vibrant all levels.
The delegation also lamented that multiple chargism was eating up the vitals of the department in Jammu province making many pioneering farmers welfare schemes ineffective.
The Director was requested to initiate proposal to the Administrative Department for overall rationalization of the department and assured career progression in the light of Chief Minister’s review meeting of Agriculture sector, held on June 10, 2016.
The Director assured the delegation that interim arrangements for filling up of all vacant posts shall be taken up in best interest of the department at the earliest and proposal for assured career progression shall be submitted to the Administrative Department.
