Ahad Zargar performs in Jagti

JAMMU, Sept 16: The second program in the series of programs on culture and ethos of Kashmir, under the auspices of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages, was held today in Jagti. The program series has the objective of bringing about a cultural refurbishment among the younger generation and provide soul food to the elderly of the displaced community of Kashmir.
The program was presided over by the noted linguist Professor P N Trisal while the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, M L Raina was the chief guest on the occasion. The program was compeered by the noted poet Tej Sagar.
Tone for the program was set with the Iishvar Twtaa of Master Zinda Koul ‘az haa vaatii buuzum moot myoon koosum vatan vwthraavu’sai’, presented by Pawan Kumar Bhat and his party. Delivering the welcome address coordinator Dr R L Bhat emphasized the rich cultural lore of Kashmir based on the Shaivist philosophy of positivist approach to life and religion.
In his incisive lecture on the cultural ethos of Kashmir, Professor P N Trisal brought out the formative elements of the rich culture of Kashmir. He said it took off from the Naattya Shaastra of Bharat Muni.
Three poets from the camp Sarla Koul, Ashok Kumar Dilbar and Raajinder Aagoosh presented their poetic composition to the hearty applause by the audience.
One of the two highlight of the program was the presentation of a compendium of skits by the young students Vansh Bhat, Shivam Raina, Ayush Bhat, Sunny Tendon and Gorav of Hee Maa Public School who were  coached meticulously by the Director Roshan Lal Bhat.
M L Raina, Commissioner Relief And Rehabilitation was all praise for the young children and pledged his full support towards the core objectives of the program.
The second highlight of the program was the noted Kashmiri poet Abdul Ahad Zargar. Speaking of the life and times of Ahad  Dr Bhat said that he was known for his open vision and inclusive ideations, which closely followed the Shaivist principles of advaita or monism, which sees all creation as being one with the Lord and not something apart from Him.
This was followed by the scintillating presentation of some famous compositions of Ahad Zargar by Pawan Kumar Bhat, Rajesh Hando, Sant Das, Ramesh Raina And Vijay Tchalo.
