DODA, May 17: Ahead of G-20 Summit, Yatras, festivals and movement of nomads in upper ridges, SSP Doda, Abdul Qayoom here today chaired a crime and security review meeting at DPO Doda.
The meeting was attended by all the supervisory officers and SHOs of the District.
All the under investigation cases and other allied matters were discussed in the meeting and the SHOs were directed to ensure maximum disposal of these cases, inquest proceedings, arrest of absconders, tracing of missing persons etc.
In theft cases, the SHOs were directed to make special efforts for recovery of stolen property and work out theft cases on merit.
They were asked to follow the under trial NDPS cases in the Court vigorously to ensure conviction besides working on mission mode basis to tighten the noose of drug peddlers and make the District drug-free.
It was emphasized upon the SHOs to constitute special teams for the arrest of absconders besides initiating proceedings for declaring proclamation of the absconders.
The SHOs were also directed to make special efforts and take stringent action under forest act if any theft of forest produce is noticed in their area.
A detailed discussion on the targets assigned by Police Hqrs for the year-2023 was also held in the meeting and SSP Doda, emphasized upon the officers to work on mission mode basis to achieve the targets in the area of investigation, law and order and other fields to reduce the crime pendency with special efforts in the investigation of NDPS, UAPA, other crime of heinous nature and other exercises to be conducted in time bound manner assigned in the targets.
Regarding other police working like disposal of seized property from the Court, special efforts to maintain surveillance on OGWs-suspects, enhancement of CCTV cameras, regular visits to educational institutions, maintaining vigil of highest order in close coordination and making liaison with Army/PMF for effective surveillance on ground and other allied things were also discussed in the meeting.
Shakeel Rehman, Addl. SP Hqrs Doda; Kameshwar Puri, Addl. SP Bhaderwah; Jaswant Singh, Dy. SP Hqrs Doda; Vaseem Mehmood, SDPO Bhaderwah; Adil Hussain, SDPO Gandoh and Susheel Kumar Dy.SP DAR Doda were also present in the meeting.
