JAMMU, Dec 25: J&K Chapter of All India Ayurvedic Congress (AIAC) urged the Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to sanction one more 50 bedded integrated Ayush Hospital at Jammu to provide specialist professional expertise to people.
Addressing a press conference, Dr TR Gupta, Patron, J&K Ayurvedic Congress said that there is no reason for depriving the people of Jammu of such curative facility.
He impressed upon the concerned State authorities to immediately initiate process of bifurcating present State level Directorate of Indian System of Medicine (Ayush) and subsequently establish provincial State level directorates.
He mentioned that even J&K Finance Commission headed by Dr Mohmodur Rehman, constituted for restructuring and eradicating inadequacies in various departments has also recommended bifurcation of present State level directorate and establishment of provincial directorates in the State.
Dr Gupta also demanded provision of staff for 45 single handed dispensaries, regularization of nearly 75 newly opened dispensaries, provision of necessary technical staff for pioneer schemes like Panchkarma, Khyar Sutra and Pharmacy, provision of administrative staff for newly created districts, opening of new dispensaries, provision of two posts of B-Grade specialists for each district and immediate election for board of Ayurvedic and Unani System of medicine.
