JAMMU, Aug 28: In a national level webinar organized by National Socialist Revolution Alliance (SRA), the members of All India Backward Classes Federation (AIBCF) headed by Justice V. Eswaraiha, demanded Central OBC Reservation Policy in J&K.
The meeting was chaired by Justice Virendra Singh Yadav, (Chairman, Social Revolution Alliance). They demanded implementation of Central OBC reservation in J&K UT.
Members deliberated that no Indian law was directly applicable to the state of J&K till 2019. One Nation, One Prime Minister and One Symbol was achieved when J&K State became a UT. About 160 Central laws have been implemented here but not reservation law. Earlier, the law governing OBC reservation as per Mandal Commision Recommendations was not implemented in J&K because of Article 370 and OBC people remained deprived of reservation since 1993.
FC Satia, president of AIBCF said that the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes Commission (SEBCC) of J&K has crossed its two years tenure and still not able to submit its final report. The delay is happening, possibly because the Commission has no OBC member in it and hence not aware of the facts and figures of the OBC issue. It was promised at the time of formation of UT that OBCs of J&K shall get the same benefits as their counter parts are getting in rest of the country but nothing happened even after two years.
Till Central OBC reservation in accordance with Mandal Commission is implemented in J&K , slogans like ” Sab ka Saath, Sab ka Vishwas, Sab ka Prayaas,” and “Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan” have no meaning, he added
“It is our firm belief that none other than present regime at the centre can fulfill the demnds of OBC people in J&K”, he asserted.
Prominent among those who participated from J&K include, Mehar Singh Labana, Roop Lal Sansi, Madan Lal Baldotra, Balwant Kataria, Om Kataria, RK Chalotra, Joginder Angotra, Hrithik Malgotra, Banshi Lal Chaudhary (Convener OBC Mahasabha, JK unit), Mohan Pawar Kashyap and Noor Mohd from Srinagar.
