AIBCU alleges misuse of Art 370 by successive Govts

JAMMU, Mar 13: Article 370 provides more rights to the State subjects of J&K but the successive Governments in the State (mostly NC and Congress ruled) used the Article to snatch the due rights of the State people.
This was expressed by speakers during a meeting of All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) convened here today under the chairmanship of Union president, Abdul Majid Malik.
The speakers said that leaders like MLA MY Tarigami usually emphasize that Article 370 is a link between J&K State and the Centre and it must be strengthened but they forget to express its misuse by successive Governments of State.
They said there is no doubt that Article 370 provides more rights to the State subjects of J&K but it is a bitter truth that successive Governments in the State used Article 370 to snatch the due rights of the State people and that is why State OBCs having 60% of the State population could not get 27% due share of reservation in J&K vide Apex Court’s Judgment of 1992 on Mandal Report.
The speakers stressed that if Article 370 is a bridge or link, then it must be a two way traffic and must implement all rules and Apex court’s judgment in the State for the poor people.
