JAMMU, Apr 12: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) held district level convention at Ghagwal in which its president Abdul Majid Malik was the chief guest and Puran Chargotra the guest of honour.
The speaker laid main emphasis on their due share of 27% in employment as well as in politics. They alleged that the ruling Coalition Government partners have looted their due share on the name of RBA and ALC categories and the real OBCs are called as Other Social Castes, while the fact remains that their population in the State was more than 50%.
They alleged further that Backward Classes Commission has been converted in the State as Backward Area Commission and since 1992 its chairman has not been appointed from amongst the OBC communities, barring a few exceptions. At present only one member from OBCs has been appointed, they stated.
Those who attended and expressed their views included Santokh Chand, Shambu Parshad, Rakesh Kumar, Bodh Raj, Yoginder Kumar, Nagar Mal, Swaran Singh Lobana, Natha Ram, Master Sain Dass, Mouj Sharan, Capt Lal Chand, Lecturer Lal Chand, Raj Kumar, Prof Kali Dass etc.
